This casserole can be served as a side dish or the main dish, you can add chicken, or ham to take it up a notch. It‘s full of flavor and easy to make.
Pre heat oven to 350, boil water and add in 1 chicken bouillon cube, cook your rice as stated on the directions. Once rice is done set it to the side. As for your protein-chicken or ham, cook it and season it to your liking. You can also omit the protein all together if you choose. Saute some onion and garlic, once done set it to the side. In a pot add in your butter and flour, whisk for about 45 seconds making sure not to burn the flour. Next add in your cream of chicken and milk, and let it cook for about 2 minutes. Add in your broccoli and let it cook for about 5 minutes. Add in your onion, garlic, seasonings and chicken (if you decide to add any) and half of your shredded cheese, mix well. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed. Put the mixture into your baking dish and top with the remaining shredded cheese; bake on 350 for 30 minutes.
2 cups of cooked rice
2 10 oz cans of cream of chicken
1 16 oz of frozen broccoli
1 small yellow diced onion
1 tablespoon of garlic
1/2 cup of milk
2 cups of shredded cheese
Shredded chicken or diced ham- optional
Onion powder, garlic powder, seasoning salt (season to your liking)
2 tablespoons of butter
2 tablespoons of flour
