Yakamein soup
Updated: Feb 21, 2021
This is my version of New Orleans Yakamein soup, this is a Creole/Chinese dish. It’s normally made with beef however I try not to eat much red meat. It’s flavorful and really easy to make.
Cooking Process:
First thing you want to do is boil your eggs, once they are done peel them and set them to the side. Next cook your noodles according to the package, be sure to add a chicken bouillon cube to the boiling pasta water. Add some oil to a pot and cook your chicken be sure to add your seasoning. Next you can add your chicken broth OR water plus better than bouillon. Let it boil for about 15 minutes. Turn off the stove and add your shrimp; the shrimp will cook fast maybe 2-3 minutes, let it sit for about 10 minutes before serving. Now you’re done, add your noodles to a bowl, add the chicken and shrimp along with broth. Cut your egg down the middle, garnish with chopped green onion. To finish it off add your favorite hot sauce and soy sauce.
Ingredients:
3 chicken breasts sliced into pieces
1 pound of shrimp
1 tablespoon of oil to cook chicken
2 tablespoons of Cajun seasonings
1 tablespoon of garlic powder
1 tablespoon of onion powder
1 box of spaghetti noodles
4 boiled eggs
soy sauce/hot sauce
chopped green onion
For the broth you can do 6 cups of chicken broth OR 6 cups of water plus 2 tablespoons of chicken better than bouillon.
